“I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”
The lesson to learn here is that sometimes you need to learn to work with what is presented to you instead of forcing yourself in a different direction. Much how the advice for dealing with a riptide on the beach is to swim sideways and out of it before proceeding back to shore, the same can be said in life and business matters. Sometimes it is easier to accomplish a goal by taking a different approach to get there.
Last weekend I ran in the Dole Great Race of Agoura Hills, a 10k run in the heart of Agoura Hills. It was certainly fun preparing for the run and participating in this awesome event for runners of all ages.
One of the most important things to remember in the busy working world is that you need to keep your body just a sharp as your mind. Runs like this are an awesome opportunity to get some exercise and keep in shape. I’m grateful for the chance to participate and I had a lot of fun!
It’s almost the end of the month and that means it’s time for accountants everywhere to buckle down and get through the home stretch, reconciling our accounts and making sure we’re all squared away to do it again next month. Even those of us that have been at it a while could use an extra bit of encouragement every now and then when we consider the daunting task before us.
